In this report, published on 25 February 2026, the Committee to Project Journalists reveals that Israel was responsible for two-thirds of all journalist and media worker killings worldwide in 2025, driving the total number killed last year to a record 129 – the highest ever number documented by the CPJ since it began keeping records more than three decades ago.
