Palestinian Head of Mission and Arab Ambassadors brief MPs and Peers

On Wednesday 20th November, LDFP organised a meeting in the Palace of Westminster with Dr Husam Zomlot the head of the Palestine mission, along with 7 other Ambassadors of Arab countries. It was hosted by Baroness Meral Hussein-Ece. We had an excellent attendance with Ed Davey and Dick Newby our leader in the Lords as well as many other MPs and Peers. Calum Miller our Foreign affairs spokesman gave a clear account of our policies on immediate recognition of Palestine, the rule of law and supporting the ICC and ICJ, which are being deliberately undermined by the Israeli government. It was great to hear Dr Zomlot say how he recognised the Liberal Democrats were the first major party to call for a ceasefire and how firm we have been in supporting a just settlement. Moving speeches were also given by the Ambassadors of Jordan and of Egypt.
