A discussion hosted by Yachad (Together for Israel Together for Peace), on Wednesday 17 March at 7 pm
The last elections to take place were 2006, with their results rejected by the international community, leading to a split Palestinian leadership, with Hamas taking control of Gaza and Fatah ruling the West Bank.
Join us for a discussion to unpick what these elections mean for the Palestinian people. We’ll discuss how the two parties have managed to reach reconciliation to enable elections to go ahead, and how the international community is likely to respond to the potential results.
Joining us will be Gaza based Omar Shaban, founder of PalThink for Strategic Studies and Hugh Lovatt, policy fellow with the Middle East and North Africa programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations.
